The typeface is a hybrid between humanist and grotesque sans serif with a calligraphic touch. I began drawing this typeface from the black weight, intended for large sizes and a novel approach: cutting individual letter forms out of black paper at 9 inches tall.
As the design goes down in weight, its legibility in smaller sizes increases, from curved open counter forms, like in a, e, s and c. This family has four weights so far: extra bold, bold, regular and light. Light, regular & bold are suitable for body text, extra bold for display purposes. The character set is expanded so that the typeface can speak many different languages and can make very complicated mathematical equations.
